Due to the ever-increasing demand of building “green” homes, we have implemented a program to pre-treat homes that is an accepted method by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It also qualifies under the “LEEDs” Green Building requirement. The product used is called Bora-Care and is essentially a borate salt.

The benefits to this treatment are:

• Borates are nature’s pest control. It is derived from a natural element in the earth which minimizes the environmental impact.
• The application is made directly on the wood frame and sheeting of the structure and renders the wood inedible to termites and other wood destroying organisms.
• Its special Glycol based formula penetrates deep into the wood providing long lasting protection as long as the wood is in service.
